Omer Shteinhart currently serves as assistant conductor of Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, working with Chief Conductor Andris Poga and guest conductors. He was finalist and Critics award winner of the Guido Cantelli 2022 competition and participated in Gstaad Conducting Academy 2022. Through these experiences, he has worked with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra del Teatro Regio Torino, Biel-Solothurn Symphony Orchestra and Gstaad Festival Orchestra. In the New Music scene, Omer regularly works with Stavanger based Insimul Sinfonietta and has conducted works by G.F Haas, Boulez, Vivier, Adams and Gupta. He has performed with Manchester’s New Music ensemble, Psappha, and has assisted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s Ensemble 10/10 with works by Adès, Martland and Davies. He has participated in the 2020 London Sinfonietta masterclass.
Omer has assisted at the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, working with Alpesh Chauhan, Andris Poga, Julian Rachlin, Ludovic Morlot, Omer Meir-Wellber, Simone Young and more. Omer was mentored by conductors such as Antony Hermus, Gianandrea Noseda, Jaap van Zweden, Sir Mark Elder, Peter Eötvös, and has worked with teachers Bjarte Engeset, Peter Szilvay, Nicolás Pasquet, Johannes Schläfli and Christian Ehwald. Graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music with distinction, with teachers Mark Heron and Clark Rundell, Omer won The Mortimer Furber Prize for Conducting for 2020/21.
