The 25-year-old German-Spanish conductor and pianist Luka Hauser is the newly appointed Kapellmeister and assistant conductor to Cornelius Meister at the Staatsoper Stuttgart from the 2023/24 season. In this capacity, he will conduct performances of Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff and Kurt Weil's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahhagony. Other highlights include his debut with the Nürnberger Symphoniker, assisting at the Dutch National Opera with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia. Most recently, Luka Hauser has gained valuable experiences as assistant to renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Vladimir Jurowsky with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Markus Stenz at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Markus Poschner at the Landestheater Linz and at the Bayreuth Festival. He recently made his debuts with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphonieorchester Liechtenstein, the Staatskapelle Weimar and the Thüringer Symphoniker, as well as assisting Cornelius Meister at the Open Air Klassik concerts with the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hannover.
