Moroccan-born conductor Omar El Jamali has reached international recognition as a finalist and an award winner at competitions such as Antal Dorati (2021), BMI Bucharest Symphony Orchestra Competition (2021), and Erich Bergel Competition (2022). He studied film-Scoring at Berklee College of Music with Grammy nominee and recipient Claudio Ragazzi and Eric Reasoner - he has studied conducting with Cristian Măcelaru, Neil Varon, Kenneth Kiesler, and Francisco Noya. Omar also studied conducting in Paris at l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and La Schola Cantorum de Paris - Omar has conducted orchestras in competitions, masterclasses and concerts such as the Budapest MAV Szimfonikus Orchestra, the Romanian Chamber Orchestra, the Eastman Philharmonia, the Filarmonica de Stat Târgu Mureș Orchestra, National Radio & Television Albania Orchestra, Hungarian National Orchestra Szeged, a.o. He is the General Director and Co-Founder of l’Académie de Direction de Neuilly et Grand Paris that regularly collaborates with l’Orchestre Pasdeloup, Orchestre Colonne, and Orchestre Lamoureux. For the upcoming season, Omar El Jamali’s engagements include collaborations with the Budapest MAV Szimfonikus Orchestra, Plock Symphony Orchestra and the Filarmonica de Stat Târgu Mureș Orchestra.
