Holly Hyun Choe

Holly Hyun Choe was born in South Korea and grew up in California. For the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, she is the Assistant Conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich under Maestro Paavo Järvi. She is also Music Director of the Orchesterverein Wiedikon and the University of St. Gallen Alumni Symphony Orchestra.
As a guest conductor, she has led the Ensemble Reflektor at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Musikkollegium Winterthur, and Collegium Musicum Basel.
Last year she received a "Career Assistance Award" from the Solti Foundation in the United States. She is a scholarship Award Recipient of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship and a Conductor Mentee in the Peter Eötvös Foundation Mentoring Programme.
She holds a Master’s Degree from the Zürich University of the Arts where she studied under the guidance of Professor Johannes Schlaefli.
